Duotone Composite

This is a tutorial posted for my convenience only (so that I would remember how to produce the same effect next time). For the actual tutorial, please visit myJanee.

  1. Open your file. =P

  2. Duplicate your image. (Image -> Duplicate)

  3. At the new image, change to grayscale. (Image -> Mode -> Grayscale)

  4. After that, change to duotone. (Image -> Mode -> Duotone) Pick your color as you wish.

  5. From the new file, drag the picture to your original photo. While dragging, hold SHIFT.

  6. With the duotone layer active, click on the Create new mask button at the bottom. Second button from the right.

  7. Paint the part you don't want in duotone with black color.
That's all to create a duotone composite.
