A Crabby Old Woman

What do you see, nurses?
What do you see?
What are you thinking
When you're looking at me?

A crabby old woman,
Not very wise,
Uncertain of habit,
With faraway eyes?

Who dribbles her food
And makes no reply
When you say in a loud voice,
"I do wish you'd try!"

Who seems not to notice
The things that you do,
And forever is losing
A stocking or shoe?

Who, resisting or not,
Lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding,
The long day to fill?

Is that what you're thinking?
Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse,
You're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am
As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding,
As I eat at your will.

I'm a small child of ten
With a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters,
Who love one another.
A young girl of sixteen
With wings on her feet
Dreaming that soon now
A lover she'll meet.

A bride soon at twenty,
My heart gives a leap,
Remembering the vows
That I promised to keep.

At twenty-five now,
I have young of my own,
Who need me to guide
And a secure happy home.

A woman of thirty,
My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other
With ties that should last.

At forty, my young sons
Have grown and are gone,
But my man's beside me
To see I don't mourn.

At fifty once more,
Babies play round my knee,
Again we know children,
My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me,
My husband is dead,
I look at the future,
I shudder with dread.

For my young are all rearing
Young of their own,
And I think of the years
And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old woman
And nature is cruel;
'Tis jest to make old age
Look like a fool.

The body, it crumbles,
Grace and vigor depart,
There is now a stone
Where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass
A young girl still dwells,
And now and again,
My battered heart swells.

I remember the joys,
I remember the pain,
And I'm loving and living
Life over again.

I think of the years
All too few, gone too fast,
And accept the stark fact
That nothing can last.

So open your eyes, people,
Open and see,
Not a crabby old woman;
Look closer . . . see ME!!

Sushi buffet

Tako yaki!!

Octopus? Or squid.

Fish with lemon slice on top

which has a lot of eggs. All pictures courtesy of Michelle.

Exams over

Finals for semester 1 are finally over. Went out to eat Japanese Sushi buffet directly after exam with my two leng lui coursemate. Hehe. It's amazing how much girls can eat you know. Although no fight with guys la. Confirm.

After that went for a movie. Casino Royale. That would make it two movie in one week. (Ade, when's the next one? =P) I think they change a lot from the book. I was just starting reading the book yesterday. A bit boring. Continue another day. DeathNote on the other hand, I know the story from head to tail. That's why it's a little draggy for me. But I like the shinigami. Ryuk look so darn cute. Hahahaha. Don't you agree?

Mic, would write up the tutorial tonight when I get back. =P Still quite lazy to write. Hehehe. Happy holidays people.

Fine Writers' Club

I found out what's in that registered post. It's a package from Fine Writers' Club containing my membership card and a key chain. I bought a few parker pen for my friends a few months ago for their convocation and I joined this club. It's suppose to give me discount or something like that. Totally forgotten about it. Haha. So it's not traffic summons after all.

Ankh

Found Ankh thanks to Casual Gameplay. A very interesting game. More of a thinking game. You would like this if you like to think. Stop reading now if you want to play the game. I will be writing what I manage to solve as I move along (for me to remember what I did). I would try not to look at walkthrough (only looking at tips). Very tempting.

  • Level 1: Enter the door. Click on the door. Click on the door. The glowing yellow box thing. On the left of the boy.

  • Level 2: Address change. Just change the address. Change the address to level3.htm

  • Level 3: Don't be so negative. So what should you do? Change negative to positive.

  • Level 4: Find the source code. Check the source code.

  • Level 5: Have to look into the future. So what's in the future? Change journey.htm to level6.jpg (what I did was change to level6.htm. there's a link to level6.jpg there). The picture is the clue. So change to desert.htm

  • Level 6: 6. Look at the source code. What is in the center of head and center of body. It's human. Exact center. Center of head is nose, center of body is bellybutton.

  • Level 7: What time is it? Check the source code. Draw it out. (analogue clock). Get the letter ncid.

  • Level 8: Polymap. Check out the source code. Draw out the map using MapEdit.Get the word stork.

  • Level 9: Stretch. What you get when you look at the code? Get the word nobin.

  • Level 10: Go get a cookie on the market? Computer cookie. Check the cookie in your computer. Get the address secretmsg.htm

  • Level 11: Useless. What is useless in the source code? Ignore the kebab tag. Use the initial. I type abch.htm . Got to bach.htm

  • Level 12: 12. It's suppose to be 12. Look at source code. Found it's 12a.jpg. So type in 12b.jpg. Written give me something else other than jay pack. So type in 12b.gif. Got the message . Add together the hex color code of the 1. Get BEDEAD.

  • Level 13: 13. Check the source code. Picture pronounce as ascii. Check the dimension for the clear boxes. In pixel. The number convert to ascii. Spells out ./egyptx/

  • Level 14: 14. Check the picture. There's a barcode. Translate it. If it doesn't make sense, invert it. Spells THEENDISNEAR.

  • Level 15: 15. Check the source code. The picture is really.htm.gif. Try really.htm. Wrong folder. Try the base address /end/. Log in with username: strange, password: keyword. Get to a page saying correct folder, wrong file. So change file to really.htm. The End.

  • The End.
